چکیده
Melatonin, an indoleamine molecule, regulates a wide range of physiological functions during the growth, morphogenesis, and response plants to abiotic stresses. We examined effect exogenous melatonin application (5, 10, 20 mg·L-1) on growth antioxidant enzyme activity Kimchi cabbage under high temperature (air 32/26°C) drought stress (soil moisture 20–24%) conditions. Application 10 mg·L-1 alleviated stress-induced inhibition increased shoot fresh weight leaf surface area seedlings by 22.7% 13.9%, respectively, compared control condition. Indeed, foliar at caused increase net photosynthetic rate transpiration The lowest level H2O2 content was also observed concentration treatment, while no significant alterations in lipid peroxidation or concentrations malondialdehyde were detected treatment with different melatonin. In addition, significantly elevated levels ascorbate peroxidase (APX) superoxide dismutase (SOD) measured without changes ascorbic acid (AsA) proline contents These results suggest that ameliorates damages combination water deficit heat enhances enzymes such as APX SOD, thereby improving tolerance against cabbage.

Role of Exogenous Application of Auxin on Antioxidant Enzyme Activities in Rice Under Salt Stress
Phytohormones such as auxin are known to be involved in alleviating the detrimental effects of salinity by modulating the activity of enzymatic antioxidants and improving antioxidant system, which help in sustaining plant growth. The present study envisaged revealing the role of exogenous application of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) in improving defense mechanisms in two genotypes (FL485 and IR29,...
متن کاملEffect of exogenous melatonin on growth, electrolyte leakage and antioxidant enzyme activity in rosemary under salinity stress
Melatonin is a new plant hormone that plays an important role in stress tolerance. For investigation the effect of exogenous application of melatonin on salt tolerance in rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.), a factorial experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with three replications. The first factor was melatonin (50, 100 µM) and the second factor was salinity stress (6, 9,...
متن کاملEffects of Foliar Application of Salicylic Acid on Growth and Physiological Attributes of Cowpea under Water Stress Conditions
The possible alleviating effects of salicylic acid on protection of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) cv. Parastu under water stress conditions were investigated in the University of Zanjan Agriculture Research Station during 2008. Water stress was imposed by withholding irrigation at 50% flowering (flowering water stress, FWS) and when 50% of the pods grew 2-3cm (pod-formation water stress, PFWS). Sa...

متن کاملPhysiological responses of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) to foliar application of boron and zinc under drought stress conditions
Micronutriens deficiency is prevalent in case of drought stress conditions, so complementary boron and zinc nutrition are important for crops to overcome drought stress. This study evaluated the effect of zinc and boron foliar application on physiological traits of sesame under different irrigation levels. The experiment was conducted as a split plot in a randomized complete block design with t...
